Life Lately

If any of you still read this little blog of mine, you've probably been wondering where I've been.

I'm sorry.

For the past month or so, I have been pretty dang sick. I get sick when I eat, feel too dizzy to stand up, have pain in my stomach, it's hard for me to breath... [Which is why it's been hard to get out and take pictures for this blog.]

My symptoms have been a bit all over the place and haven't been indicative of one specific thing. I've done all kinds of tests and had loads of blood drawn, yet still the doctors have been pretty confused. They think it's possibly a food allergy, possibly my thyroid, possibly my liver, possibly my galbladder, etc.

Anyway, I am heading to the hospital tomorrow to have some more extensive testing done, and hopefully they will be able to find answers. Hopefully my blogging will be back to normal within the next week or so, but I will keep you updated!

I would really appreciate it if you would all pray for me, and for the doctors to figure out what's wrong and hopefully fix it! I'm ready to be fixed. :]

Over the Weekend...

On Saturday, we decided to take a quick trip down to Salt Lake with some friends in our ward. We had so much fun. We ate a lot [surprise, surprise] and spent some time at City Creek Mall. We were also able to meet up with H's twin brother and his wife, so that was a lot of fun! Here are a few pictures from that weekend...

Thanks for stopping by. I promise I will be back to my regular outfit posts soon! And thank you so much to all of you who left sweet comments on yesterday's post.

Blogging

I love blogging.

I really do.

I love sharing my outfits with all of you, even if they aren't amazing and expensive and perfect.

It makes me happy, and H and I love the extra time that we get to spend together while preparing each post. [He takes all of my pictures, and he helps me choose blog post titles. ;]

This past week I was able to visit my family in Arizona, and let me tell you... I didn't even touch my computer. I didn't blog, I didn't read anyone else's blog, and I was away from all of the negativity on the internet. And it's given me some time to think about what I want to share.

Why do people "hate" fashion bloggers, and fashion blogs, or blogs in general? I really don't get it. When I decided to convert this blog into a space where I share my daily looks, I guess I wasn't really sure how people would react. I got a lot of positive encouragement up front, but now sometimes I feel like people are mocking me behind my back or on social media. Not me directly, I suppose. But fashion bloggers in general. People laugh at and make fun of bloggers. They write blog posts that degrade bloggers. They share rude comments on blogs or other websites. And it seems like they relate girls who blog about what they wear each day, to someone who doesn't have a thought in their head.

That's not true.

Blogging about my life and about what I wear is something that I really love. It's always been hard for me to figure out what I want to do in life. I've never had a job that's lasted more than a year. I get bored easily, and want to try new things. But blogging? That's something I love. And something that I haven't gotten sick of.

That doesn't make me stupid. I don't feel stupid because I blog.

It doesn't make my job laughable. I feel great when people recognize me and tell me that they love my blog.

I'm not embarrassed by any of it.

I don't care what people think about me or who I am or what I do. I have enough confidence to not let it hurt my feelings. And I love all of you who read my blog and send me sweet comments and emails. I think that has helped me grow in so many ways. But I am so sick of this whole "fashion bloggers are stupid, and annoying, and so into themselves and blah, blah, blah." Why does anyone feel the need to discredit what someone else loves to do? Why does it bother them so much?

And to be honest, I have struggled since starting my blog to find a balance between sharing my outfits and sharing more about my personal life. I do love sharing my "ootd" but I also want to share more than that. Because I am more than that.

I love to write. I really do. Writing is another thing I love, but sometimes I feel like I can't write and share on this blog. I'm afraid that my readers won't like it, because I've gotten into the habit of only blogging about fashion. I'm afraid that if I share too much that it will give people more to make fun of or hurt me with.

The internet can be a very scary place, because you can be anonymous. And when you are anonymous, it is so much easier to say something that you wouldn't say in person... to leave a mean comment.

If you really dislike my blog so much, why are you still reading it? Honestly, I want to know. Even some of my closest friends don't read my blog. And that is FINE. I really could not care less if you don't want to read my blog. [Except H, you always have to read it. ;]

You don't have to love everything that I do or say or wear, but you don't have to be rude about it either.

Running this blog is my job and I love it.

I'm fed up with the stigma that fashion bloggers are given. I'm not stupid. I care about more than just fashion. I won't let others define who I am or what I do.

I love blogging, and I will continue to blog for as long as I please. I will write about what I want to write about, and I will share what I want to share.

And if you don't like it, feel free to stop reading my blog. I will not be offended.

PS-- To the rest of you, I LOVE YOU. Thanks for supporting and reading my blog. It means more than you know.

Daily Makeup Routine

I have been asked quite a few times since starting my blog how I do my makeup. I am currently in the process of filming a tutorial, but I wanted to share with you today all of the products that I use. [The tutorial will be up next week!! :] Make sure you check down below for all of my favorite products...

I feel like I have tried almost every makeup product you can think of, and these are the ones that I constantly come back to. I have tried a lot of high end products and a lot of drug store products, and my favorite brand is MAC. I know, I know... So cliche, right? I feel like everyone and their mom says that MAC products are their favorites, but it's because the quality really is amazing. Definitely worth the price, in my opinion. I recently started using the MAC Studio Fix powder [on Emily's recommendation] and it is my favorite product that I have EVER used, when it comes to a setting powder/foundation. I have combination skin... When I wear liquid foundation, it looks oily, and when I wear powder foundation it looks dry. [So annoying!!] So I have been using a liquid foundation with a powder to set it, and it has been working like a charm for me.

I also recently discovered the NARS Line and Pore Perfecter, and have fallen in love! I put it on before anything else, and it really does reduce the look of my pores!! And one last thing I want to brag about is the L'Oreal Voluminous mascara! I have tried a million mascaras, ranging from $3- $40, and this one takes the cake. I have been using it for the past 8 months, and I don't think I will ever stop! I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Like I said before, I will be posting a video showing my daily makeup routine next week, so please stay tuned!! And for those of you who have asked about what I use for my eyebrows, I use the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo [in the color Blonde] and apply it with a wet eyeliner brush!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Floppy Hat

So I posted a picture on Instagram yesterday [@victoriafarnsworth], wearing this floppy hat and sunglasses, and told everyone that H was embarrassed to be seen with me. Does anyone else have this problem? We were running errands, and every place we stopped, he was like, "You should take off your hat..." Haha, men! Anyway, I am completely in love with this necklace and these earrings from Purple Peridot. Their jewelry is so on trend and so affordable. I definitely recommend checking them out!

Spring Fever

Top: J. Crew Factory [similar, similar] // Jeans: Rag & Bone // Heels: Zara // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Earrings: c/o InPink // Bracelets: c/o Hello Fab, Daily Look // Watch: Target // Sunglasses: Karen Walker inspired via Amazon

I am so sorry for being all over the place with this blog of mine lately... But my life has been a little bit all over the place as well, so blogging was pushed to the back burner for a bit. But I'm back now, and I promise to post more consistently! Anyway, up here in Rexburg, the past two weeks have been amazing. Most of the snow had melted, and the weather was up in the 40s! Unfortunately, this weekend it started to snow again, and I was super bummed. I guess Idaho isn't as ready for spring as I am...

Oh, and please excuse my hair in these photos. It was so windy when we were taking pictures!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
