$300 J. Crew Gift Card Giveaway

Happy Friday ladies!! TGI freaking F. It has been a very long week. H and I babysat 6 kids from Monday until last night and we are ready to be done! We loved all of the kids, but let me just tell you-- kids are hard work. Props to my sisters who have 6 kids!

I think you all know that I have a deep love for J. Crew, but unfortunately, it's something that's not always in the budget. It's funny because H always gets upset when he sees me online shopping there because "how can that shirt be $80 when you can get one at Forever 21 for $15??" But every time I actually wear a piece of clothing from J. Crew, he always comments on the quality. The quality is seriously 100 times better, and you can tell just from looking at it. Here's what I always tell him--because obviously I need to justify my spending habits: If it's more expensive, there's a reason. I am a firm believer in that. [And I'm the same way with my makeup. I'm a total MAC snob. But that's a whole nother story.] **What is "nother??" It's not even a word?! Why do I say it? Am I the only one? It sounds okay when I say it, so I never thought it was weird until I actually wrote it out. Help?!**

Anyway, I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I love J. Crew. And you should too, because today I'm teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers to bring you an amazing giveaway! One lucky reader will win a $300 gift card to J. Crew!! [Seriously what could be better??] This is the perfect opportunity to get started on that new summer wardrobe! Stripes, Cheetah, and Tanning

I'm struggling right now ladies: struggling with being so pale in an Arizona summer. And I know I should just embrace it because that's what I was born with and love it because my husband loves it, BUT........

Here are a few of my problems when it comes to tanning:

1. I don't tan. Like, at all. I just burn and then turn white again.
2. H will not let me get a spray tan. He hates it when I look fake. [He also hates eyelash extensions and acrylic nails. Unfortunately, those are two of my favorite things.]
3. Tanning lotion always results in looking too orange or streaky. Maybe I just suck at putting it on? Maybe I'm using the wrong stuff?
4. I CAN'T GET TAN.

Right now I own the Sun tanning lotion, and I may try to apply it again one of these days, but it's just a little too obvious. And I feel like it comes off within a few days?? I've heard really good things about Million Dollar Tan, but I still am very apprehensive when it comes to spending money on any kind of tanning product, because it just hasn't worked for me. Any suggestions when it comes to tanning? I feel like I've tried everything, and I just want to be tan. Not dark, I just need a little color ladies!

Side note: Not crazy about these shoes with this outfit. It's the worst when you realize something like that a little too late. ALSO-- I am in the market for some amazing distressed jeans. I have my eye on these [sooo expensive--can't decide if they're worth it or not] and these [they don't have my size.] Any other suggestions?

Pink

Pink has been my summer obsession. I feel like I've been wearing it in every single outfit post, and I'm not really that sorry about it. I've never disliked pink, I just never really wore it for some reason. If you were to take a peek into my closet, you would see mostly corals and turquoises [is that even a word??], because I feel like those colors tend to look the best on me. But lately I've been buying everything in pink, so hopefully I don't get over this pink obsession anytime soon. Other obsessions: these glasses [still]; this shirt, leopard print. All in all, I'd say this is an outfit worth obsessing over.

Copycat: Red

For my copycat look this week, I unintentionally copied Rachel of The Pink Peonies again. I was already wearing this outfit [minus the shoes] when I came across her look, so I figured I might as well use it as my copycat look. Guys, I really love her style--though I'm sure you already know that!

See her full look HERE.

Also, I just need to talk about this fab clutch for a minute. I'm not usually one to spend an excessive amount on a bag, BUT I have been drooling over this one for the past couple of months. So when my blogger friend, Emily, was selling hers for less, I couldn't NOT take advantage of it. So thank you, Emily. I am absolutely in love with it!

Rockstud Heels

Before we get started, I thought I'd share my favorites and not so favorites from this past week:

Favorites:
1. Getting my Valentino inspired Rockstud Heels in the mail. I was truly obsessing [do I say that too much?] over Rachel Parcell and her pink Valentinos, but the $900 price tag just wasn't something that I could justify. Like, ever. Even if I could afford that, I don't see why I would ever choose a $900 pair of shoes over a $30 pair of shoes. Anyway, I'm so thrilled to have them, and a huge thank you to Emily for recommending them!

2. Getting a fun package in the mail from A-Thread boutique. SO EXCITED.

3. Also getting my new swimsuit in the mail. And my new Clare Vivier leopard print clutch. [Also thanks to Emily.] You could say it was a really great mail weekend.

4. World War Z. Seriously so much better than I thought it was going to be. [But also a lot creepier than I thought it would be.]

Not so Favorite:
1. Remember last week when I mentioned the two year old that I nanny and our "stinky" swim experience? Yeah, well that may or may not have happened again the other night. But this time she pointed to the ground and said "ew." When we looked, there was in fact a not-so-nice little package waiting for us on the carpet.  [Is that totally TMI? Sorry. But it was too good--and gross--to not mention. It reminds me of that Office episode, The Carpet. "Hey guys. Is somebody making soup?" -Creed. Please tell me you get this reference?]

2. This Arizona heat. Seriously, guys. I've lived in Arizona for the past 13 years. You'd think by now I would be used to the heat, and yet I'm not. I think I'm ready for a change...

ANYWAY.

Yes, I pulled out the camo pants. Again. But I just can't help it. It is another one of my obsessions. And like I mentioned the other day, I don't think I can wear camouflage without wearing pink. I try, I really do. But I guess my girly side decides that it always needs to shine through. And I'm really okay with that. There are few things that I love more than the mix of camouflage and pink.

I call this outfit my wanna be outfit. I've got my Prada inspired sunnies, my Valentino inspired heels, and my Celine inspired bag. But aren't these shoes just to die for? I got them this past weekend, and they are possibly the greatest things to ever enter my wardrobe. Props to Emily [and whoever told Emily] for letting me know about these amazing and affordable Valentino inspired rockstud heels. I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple, opting for my favorite plain white tee, to not to take away from the shoes!

Sears Style: Black and White #ThisisStyle

**DISCLOSURE: I am a member of the Collective Bias Social Fabric community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

I have never really been a huge Kardashian fan. However, I have always loved Khloe Kardashian's style. She is so classy and feminine, and it doesn't ever seems like she tries too hard. She always looks so put together, no matter what she is wearing.

This past weekend I went to Sears with the intent to purchase an outfit from the Kardashian Kollection, inspired by Khloe's style. I have never laid eyes on the Kardashian line, nor have I ever shopped at Sears, so this was a new experience for me. Right away, I noticed all of the sale signs. Seriously, they were everywhere, and I was excited. It took H and I a couple of rounds around the store before we had to ask someone to direct us to the Kardashian Kollection. All of the sales associates were very friendly and helpful. I get frustrated sometimes when sales associates are put off by customers asking questions, because that's what they were hired to do. Anyway--the employees were all very personable, complimenting my outfit and making small talk.

When we actually found the Kardashian Kollection, I was very surprised. In my mind I had the notion that I would have a hard time finding anything of theirs to wear, because I didn't think it would be modest. But almost everything that they had in that store was modest. The skirts and dresses hit the knee, and most of the shirts had sleeves. I definitely had not expected that from the Kardashians. Again, I was very excited.

Another thing that really surprised me was how reasonable the prices were; not to mention the sale prices! And of course, I used my Shop Your Way Rewards card while purchasing!

While picking an outfit, I tried to keep Khloe's style in mind. Something that was comfortable, yet cute; something that would look classy, dressed up or down.

In the end, I opted for H's favorite--the black and white striped shirt, and my favorite--the leggings with the leather cutouts. [I have been craving a pair just like this, but they were about 5 times more expensive than these Kardashian ones. Win win!] Since this outfit was all black and white, I wanted to add a few pops of color with the accessories. Here is how I styled these pieces:

Head on over to their website, and feel free to check them out on Facebook and Twitter! And, you can see my Google+ story on this HERE.

What do YOU guys think? Do you like the Kardashian Kollection?

Fashion Flirtation's Five Friday Faves + A GIVEAWAY

Friday's are the best! I'm so excited for the weekend, but more importantly, I am excited for the fab giveaway I have for you today! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom to enter! :] And don't forget to visit Ladies in Navy to enter my giveaway!

Okay--I wanted to start a little something. Fashion Flirtation's Five Friday Faves. [Try saying that 5 times...] I saw something similar on this blog, and totally fell in love with the idea. So every Friday, I am going to share my 5 favorite posts of the week. [It doesn't necessarily have to be from that week; it will just be something that I found that week.] But really, what's better than being introduced to new bloggers/posts? Not many things.

So this week's Five Friday Faves:

1. Food for Thought: Priorities by Story of my Life. This post was so refreshing to hear. And, this is probably one of my favorite topics. Ever. I could seriously talk/blog about this topic every day and not be sick of it. [Though you guys might ;] I have so many thoughts/feelings on the things we prioritize and why we do or don't prioritize them. [Am I even making sense right now?] We have time for what we make time for. Quit making excuses. Just do it.

2. Looks I Love: Pearls, Sequins, and Studs by The Sweetest Thing. Guys... possibly my favorite blog. Ever. I just love how real she is about everything. There are so many blogs I read where I'm just like, "Okay, your life can't be that perfect." And it just annoys me. But Emily is always honest and funny and I just love her! Oh, and I may or may not have [but definitely did] buy that Clare Vivier clutch from her this week. I am DYING. But anyway--I love everything about this look. She always dresses so girly and chic--sequins, pink, pearls? Love it.

3. Inspiration: Just Around the Corner by Meet the Thompsons. [One of my best friends. She just started a blog, so check it out and follow along with her!] I always love reading posts that just inspire you to be better and puts everything into perspective. This was definitely one of them.

4. If You Need a Laugh: It's Not Always Perfect by Always, Maylee. I really do love a good blooper post. I've done a few before, and it's nice to see other bloggers keeping it real.

5. Beauty Tips: Brow School by Maskcara. But pretty much any of her blog posts. She is the best beauty blogger ever, so you should all definitely head on over to her blog!
