Day Twenty-Two // The [Almost] Perfect Maxi

Do you ever have those days where you just don't feel like smiling? Apparently I do, hence the serious face in all of these pictures! My apologies.

Maxi dresses and skirts are a definite staple in my wardrobe, because they are in season all year long. They are great for summer and winter, plus they are so dang comfortable, so I never feel bad about a maxi dress purchase.  I love this dress for summer, though I do need to find another alternative to making it modest. The long sleeves in Arizona thing is just not doing it for me, and I'm not a huge fan of wearing short sleeves under tank tops. [Call me crazy, I know...] Maybe it will just act as a beach cover up from now on? Suggestions, please!

Shirt: Old Navy [on sale--I have it in 5 colors!] // Dress: Old Navy [similar] // Shoes: Charlotte Russe [similar] // Bag: Target [in turquoise] // Sunnies: HelloFab

For Day 22 of the blogging challenge, the topic is: Rant about something.

I'm not really in a ranting mood, but I will go ahead and and list a few things that drive me absolutely crazy: politics, animals, bad drivers, crazy health nut people, predictable shows, Baby Lips, Pitbull [the singer. ew.]
So yeah. You can call that my rant of the day!

Oh and you know how I'm completely obsessed with neon, right? [How could you forget...] Well I have a real treat for you all today: the neon stylings of Lana and Abigail! [Two of the cuties that I nanny.]
^[Aren't you just dying over their matching shorts?]^

[I swear that I did not tell her to pose like that.]

Anyway, this just makes me love neon even more, if that's even possible. What are some of the trends that you just can not get over lately?

  1. how cute is this post! love your more modest maxi approach. have you looked at some of the asos stripes maxis? they have sleeves and covered chests - could be a cooler option than layering!

  2. Girl I'm so with you on t-shirts under tanks- not a fan!

I have a couple short-sleeved cardigans and jackets that I add to my sleeveless dresses, many of which are from Target or Loft :)

  6. Maybe you could take in the straps at the top of the shoulder to shorten them and decrease the amount of chest/underarm area that is showing! Otherwise, try layering with cardigans or button downs over the dress.

  7. Such a beautiful maxi-dress! Why not try a denim vest over top? Your arms will still be bare, but it might add enough coverage to make you more comfortable :)
